OchsenkopfOX 16 H-1008 Axe Twin-ILTIS Model Canada

Absolutely love this axe. The feel and weights of it, the smoothness of the wood, and how it feels and holds up when being used. Again my only issue with this axe, which I had with another of theirs is the 2 covers to protect the blade of the axe head. Very, very cheaply made, arrived dry and cracked by the corners of the blade. Might last another year on the axe, if I’m lucky. It’s a very thin leather, seems inappropriately too thin for covering any axe. Feels and looks like it should be on a $20-$40 axe, not an over $100 axe. Just disappointing when looking for quality, especially when the axe itself is of high quality and they put on this cheap garbage of a blade protector. May have to give up my heritage of German quality and go to the Swedes for their high quality axes and covers. I’d rather pay for the whole item having quality all around. Seems like A poor executive choice to cheapen the blade covers.

Excellent quality axe—great handle and head stays sharp. Well worth the cost and wait.
