Perfect, Best knife EVER!
I’m not a knife connoisseur but a neighbor told me about this knife & I’m glad she did! It has made all my chopping, slicing, & dicing much easier than ever. It feels great in my hand, is the perfect weight, & so easy to use! I love it so much I bought an extra one for myself & buy for gifts for friends & family, which rave about it & love & said it was a great gift. Great value for your money! Comes in a thin, plastic sleeve you can use. I also bought a durable plastic cover (available as separate purchase) for one of mine. I am plant based so it’s used a lot & stayed sharp well over a year before needing to be sharpened. Highly recommend!

Practical, balanced and utilitarian.
Rated as best Chef knife for less than $75 by America's Test Kitchen, this is indeed a nice feeling and handling knife. It is not pretty or a piece to show off to your friends. It comes very sharp and is quite ergonomic. The handle is grippy so you need not worry about it being too slippery to hold and wind up cutting your pinky toe off. It's blade shape is right in the middle between those with a more straight blade and those meant to be used to rock and slice. Blade is not too thick or too thin. I have not had to do a full sharpen on it yet. A few touch ups on a ceramic rod seem to do the trick. Good knife at a reasonable price point.

Great knife for a great price
The media could not be loaded. This knife is definitely bang for the buck. It comes out of the package sharp. Made of good steel cuts pretty much anything I've put under it. Holds an edge well. I've accidentally hit a few bones and stuff like that, and the edge is still there. It seems to sharpen easily too I have ran across the stone quite a bit. Overall, good knife.

Great Knife!
This knife is the best! I have given them as wedding gifts for years and everyone loves them. I have had mine over 16 years and it is one of my top two favorites in my kitchen. The handle is very comfortable and there is a nice balanced weight to it. It is Americas Test Kitchen winner for several years! It needs sharpening now and then and it’s good to go for a few more years.

very sharp and stable knife
I have several Victorinox small paring knifes and love them. I decided to treat myself to a good Chief's knife and I did. It's very sharp and the handle is comfortable and begs to be gripped. Very happy with the knife.

Sharp, nice knife, great handle
Ordered this knife due to "reasons." It's a bit larger than I thought it would be but that's fine. The blade is thin but quite sturdy. And it came very sharp right out of the box (although as a woodworker I always tune them up). Balance is good in the hand and the handle is grippy.I can't tell if the tang goes clear through the handle, as no metal shows in the back or top/bottom of the handle. So I'll guess partly but not fully. One might think the blade would be identical to the version with the rosewood handle, to reduce production costs, but it's not a guarantee. All I know is I think we have a very nice knife for our kitchen and with care it should outlast we two old buzzards (well, my wife isn't a buzzard...).

This is the knife
I already own one and bought this as a gift. It takes a great edge, is light weight and maneuverable enough for small hands. Strong blade. This is *the* chef's knife to own, I promise you. You won't do any better for more money, unless you're talking high-end, fancy-pants, hand-forged blades, in which case you probably would be at a specialty shop. Vitorinox has been in business forever and they know how to make a knife.
