Excellent for smaller yards..and much easier than pushing a spreader on uneven or hilly ground.But..beware ..with finer grain material..it tends to get all over your lower body and shoes if you hold it too close.And don’t even try on windy days..wait until it’s calm. Always rinse it off with a garden hose when finished too.

I have a small yard, and this certainly is the correct size for the yard. Overall, I am glad I purchased this rather than a broadcast type that this replaced.-I like the extension that fits onto the forearm. It does help balance the weight. However, I feel it could have been made a little longer and would have worked even better.- I was dismayed that the instructions tell you to consult the Scotts website for a list of settings given a specific Scotts product. Really, guys. That is a cheap and unnecessary step I should not have to do.- It will take a little bit of practice to get the settings correct. A broadcast type, the variables are the speed at which you walk plus the drop rate setting. This type adds the crank speed to the equation. But, I'll get there.I do think Scott could improve as noted. BTW while I am right handed, 10% of the population is left handed and will find the crank difficult to use.

This is a well made spreader. It's easy to use!

The spreader came on time and I put it to use the following day. It spread the seeds where I wanted and evenly. Adjusted the amount of seed easily.
