This dazzling new breed of high-tech tops makes ordinary tops look like they’re standing still. First there’s a laser light show that’s a miniature version of Fourth of July fireworks, with flashing, pulsating, multi-colored LED beams. A wild soundtrack of battling intergalactic spaceships accompanies the light show. To set it off, simply attach the winder to the top, twist it several times, and hit the release button. Contains a 1.5 mW Class IIIa laser light and batteries are included.

3 which is great. And because he loves it
I bought this for my speech delayed 2 yr old. He loves it, and prompts him to say wow, oohhh, ready set gooo and even count 1,2,3 which is great. And because he loves it, from time to time he would ask to play with it. I think it’s bec it’s pretty to look at. However with just a few uses, the lights are starting to burn out. I dont know if you can replace batteries and sometimes the launcher thingie gets stuck as you twist it making it hard to press and let go of the top.

I produces a fascinating light and sound show that sounds like it is having an inter-galactic battle with itself
This spring powered top is very impressive. I produces a fascinating light and sound show that sounds like it is having an inter-galactic battle with itself. If you are very careful with it you can get at least 10 good runs. Needs to run on a large hard table top in the dark for full effect. Once it quits you are out of luck. Changing the batteries disturbs the balance and it never works properly again. Don't drop it as it is very fragile.

Where is the quality in toys for children these days?
the laser sonic top said it would play music and and light up. Our grandsons had a similar top years ago that lasted over 4 years playing music with flashing lights. They loved it and the dog hated it! So I bought this newer version - and was disappointed in the quality - I bought three - none of the 3 lasted more than 10 seconds playing music or the flashing lights.

These are awesome as far as color and are easy to use very colorful but...my 6 year old grandson over wound the top the 3rd time he used it and broke it so have an adult do that part.

Great for PECS
I use this to get special needs pre-schoolers to exchange an icon for getting the top to spin. They really love seeing it spin and hearing the lights and sounds. This is what it takes to motivate them to request it using an icon (picture of the top). I have even used it to get them to request "help" by putting the top in a clear plastic container that they don't know how to open. This is just one of many items I use for this purpose, but this particular one seems to work better than most.

From an old fudder dudder...
Nothing against the top, it seems put together ok for the price you pay. But here's the thing, it's loud. It's really loud. I'm not talking air horn loud but it... well, it's just louder than I thought it'd be.Personally this would be a fantastic gift for that couple that has a three or four year who is absolutely sure their child can do no wrong. Get them this as a gift for the child and I would honestly have to assume their tune will change.

Lights and sound dont work straight put of package.
Just received and immediately opened. The lights nor sound work!!! You can hear something moving around inside the top, so I'm guessing whatever makes it easy light up and play music is broken inside.
