Just the facts!
It seems that everyone has something negative to say about HDMI switches. All the reviews I have seen on Amazon has some derogatory comments. I bought this particular product because it looked good and had no negative reviews and now has poor ratings due to some customer dissatisfaction that is not related to it's performance. I've only had mine about a month and don't like to review merchandise in such a brief period of ownership, because it doesn't give a fair assessment of quality or durability. In this case though, I feel certain details need to be elaberated upon:This product is an HDMI switch. It allows up to four devices to be connected to a television with a single HDMI input. It does not split the signal to several screens. It does require power to operate and will not work without it.It does not come with any HDMI cables, at least I did not receive one. It does come with a three foot USB/ micro usb cable for power and a power adapter. This can easily be replaced if damaged, or if too short for personel needs. The device itself is approximately five inches long, by three inches deep, by one inch high. It is very light in weight.Mine is all black. I don't know if there are different color options. The device can be operated with, or without a remote. The remote provided comes with a battery. It has five buttons. One is power and the others select device 1, 2, 3, or 4.From what I have observed, it auto-selects devices, or can be done so manually. It does not have an auto-shut off feature. It must be powered on or off manually. In all, it appears to be well designed, and takes up little space. All the HDMI inputs are located on the back of the device. The output is located on the left side. The only negative comment I have is that no manufacturer, or customer service contact information is provided , so you have to rely on Amazon for assistance.Follow-up: 2 years later. My device is still working fine! There was a time that I thought the switch was malfunctioning, but I found the problem was the HDMI cables. Don't assume lack of functionality is in the device. Test all your connected components. The cables had intermittent issues, so it took time to find the culprit. I even utilized a second switch to identify the defective parts.

Worked fine for about nine months, then died!
I have not had good luck with switches. I thought this was going to make it. Nine months and now it won't power up. Does anyone make a switch that works?

Didn't expect it to be this good.
The product has a very small footprint on my tv stand. The image quality is top notch AND...I didn't realize that it would auto-switch when a new device was detected as having just turned on.WHAT???? Not only do I have the option of remotely (yes, with a remote control) switched between input devices, but, I can do so AT THE UNIT!! Yes, so if I happen (and it very likely will happen) to lose the tiny remote, in addition to it automatically switching the source to the one just turned on, I can also MANUALLY switch it at the unit with a "Select" button. Wow...this is soo cool!! The build quality, at least so far, soon very durable for what it's expected to do. I'm not going to throw it around the room or take it golfing...it's going to sit on my TV stand and do what it was meant to do...MAKE MY LIFE EASIER!! I don't think you'll be displeased. Just note that you will need to have a wall USB power (no it does not come with one) adapter, like a cellphone charger or a USB port in a surge protector, to plug it into for power. It comes with unit and power CORD, but, you must supply the adapter or surge protector with USB input for power.

HDMI Switch (fail)
I have cable tv, PS3, and Xbox360 plugged in to this currently. When you switch a game systems power on, the HDMI switch automatically detects it and switches it right over. You do nothing, how awesome is that! Then when you're done and switch the game system off, the switch automatically switches it back to "say for instance" you're cable tv.Very cool idea!No switching inputs, channels, nothing.I made my cable #1 my Xbox #2 my PS3 #3 and will be adding my PS4 to the #4 slot. There is absolutely no programming, it's plug and play.I just did mine that way since I watch cable the most, therefore #1PS3 is #3 and the PS4 will be #4 only because if the numbers if each system made it easier to remember. And Xbox is the odd man out so it's #2.This switch was a must have!Plugging in and unplugging HDMI all the time into the back of tv just loosens the ports, and once they are ruined, the tv is useless. This saves having to do that to TVs with minimal HDMI inputs. Now, thanks to this switch I only have the one cable coming from this switch plugged in to the tv.Just perfect! Will update is anything changes..***Update 1-6-2020***It keeps switching between ports on its own and giving a blue screen..Such a shame too, this was a great concept..Really bummed, but returning it..

It does the job BUT...
This thing works. I can connect my Firestick, my Xbox One, and my Blu-ray player to a TV that has ONLY two USB connections (into which I have the cable and this port connected.) However, I have issues and I don't know if it's the device, the Blu-ray player, the TV, or some combination of the 3. I don't use my Blu-ray player often. I switch mostly between basic cable and the Firestick and occasionally the Xbox. But no matter what method I use to switch - using the TV remote or the port remote - the Blu-ray player overrides what I'm switching to and turns on and changes my screen to the Blu-ray player. This became such an issue that I have disconnected the Blu-ray player from the port. Also, the remote for the port is cheap. It doesn't like to work very well and if the device isn't completely clear of obstacles, the remote won't work at all.I wish there were more affordable options out there for consumers to choose from. No, I actually wish TV makers would provide enough connections on the TVs so we don't have to buy and connect all of this extra crap. And in a perfect world, all of these connections wouldn't be needed. I hate the tangle of wires behind my TV.

This is not 4K like they say it is.
This is not 4K, I connected my 4K roku box and the res will only go up to 1080. When I connect the roku box straight into the tv no issues.
