It's a fairly solid device. Seems to be accurate. Good value for the money.
The display is very easy to read, although it's annoying the same display content is not available for viewing from every facing direction. It makes it odd that left handed, centered and right handed wearing positions would have different display readout styles and not the same ones available all three directions. It obtains the reading faily quickly with your finger properly state all the way into the device an the device closed on your finger with its automatic amount of tension it applies without your help. Auto shuts down. Comes with a dust cover and snap-together carrying lanyard which works well. This is a great addition to any home or office emergency medical kit or daily monitoring gear. The only thing that would make the product better would be a version with onboard memory and USB port so you can download and track you O2 sat and pulse rate changes over time for monitoring or discovering trends or sudden changes in these stats which are critical to monitor for anyone with CHF or other heart conditions.

Accurate and good for small children
It's hard to parse through all the pulse oximeters available on Amazon since so many have sponsored reviews, which is annoying at best and misleading at worst. The reason I chose this pulse ox was that it had a low proportion of negative reviews. We needed a pulse oximeter for our toddler and this serves the purpose really well. When using it for a smaller child you may need to try a couple of fingers to find the best one - for us the middle finger is more reliable than the smaller index finger; I'd guess a toddler's thumb might also work. Be sure that their finger is all the way into the pulse ox meter and that the fingertip touches the black rubber ridge close to the hinge. This pulse ox meter gives relatively quick readings, is accurate and has large clear numbers along with different display modes. It does take a little longer to get a reading on a small finger than on a bigger person but that is probably typical for this type of device, and it's at least as fast as the one that our pediatrician uses. We use this for the toddler and (for "fun") on her older siblings which is a good calibration check. Big kids and adults tested have always been in the 98-100 range; when the little one has had lower readings her figures have been consistent with observation, our prior experience, and cross-checks at the doctor's office. The power button is easy to operate so we get her to press that herself. It also functions to cycle through different display styles, which is a good way for a little one to pass the time while waiting for the reading.

Oximeter is life saver
I bought this device for my wife who is a heart patient. She is on artificial mitral valve and quit frequently her lungs develop fluid and she experienced shortness of breath. To release water she has to take medication.Sudden increase in body weight is an indicator of water retention. Her doctor advised her instead of relying solely on weight management, to buy an oximeter to monitor blood oxygen level and decide medication accordingly. In my opinion this little device can be a life saver. This device not only gives us our heart rate, but shows graphically how steady our heart rate is (or is not). It's kind of like an EKG. When my wife forgets to take her meds, She can see the effect of that using this device. In the present scenario of COVID19 this device can be used to monitor oxygen level of all family members which will help early detection of COVID19 infection.I have received this device today and started using it.I detected that my wife is low in oxygen and she immediately took medication. We went to the clinic of my wife's doctor and found that reading of my device is very close to the reading of the device my wife's doctor uses in her clinic In my opinion the device is working fine and is dependable. In my opinion I rate the quality of this product to 5 on a scale of 1 to 5.I keep notes on what I see in my device and will discuss them with my Dr. at my next appointment.

Unit is easy to use and easy to read
Works well, and reasonably quickly. Easy to read, with useful additional information (for me BPM is good to know as well). Since it's new, I can't speak to durability, but it seems pretty solid. Accuracy is 4 stars because I have not used it long enough to go to 5. Only thing that would be nice to add would be a case of some kind.

Very bright and easy to read display
I find Santa Medical to be very accurate with their pulse oximeters. I have owned 3 different ones and loved all of them. They match what my Kardia Mobile device has and my blood pressure machine.

Works fine but battery instructions are WRONG
Wanted to have one of these on hand if one of us gets infected. Wondered if it was going to be junk. Pleasantly surprised that it's well-constructed, comes with very complete instructions (easy to read and printed large enough that you CAN read them) and works exactly like what you use in your doctor's office. No way to tell if its blood/oxy levels it reports are accurate, but it appears quite accurate on pulse rate. However, thought I'd gotten a defective unit. The included batteries would not work, nor did fresh replacements. The battery compartment clearly shows + and - signs for installation, but while reading the instructions, they show the batteries flipped around. Tried that, and it works, so if you have a problem as we did, flip one battery around so the + end goes the other way, contrary to what the battery compartment markings say.
