Which color wire maps to which pin on the RJ45 side?

This is what I have mapped for it: 1(OW) - Blue wire 2(O) - Orange 3(WG) - Black 4(B) - Red 5(WB )- Green 6(WG )- Yellow 7(WBr) - Brown 8(Br) - White

Since the picture shows them uncrimped do they come crimped?

They are crimped to the cables already

I need to short a connection. Is there anywhere I can find the wire crimped with the pins already?

You will be lucky to figure out the basic RJ-45 to DB-9 pinout. Hopefully, you have a pin extractor. You'll probably mess it up the first time. Once you get into the 9 pin Cannon connector world, there are additional options. They sell a: LuoQiuFa DB9 Breakout Connector RS232 Serial 9 Pin Connector DB9 Terminal (Male x 1, Female x 1) This gets around soldering, crimping, etc. All you need is the ability to strip wire. You can pin straight thru. You can Y connect, using one terminal for two wires. You can Jumper across pins in either or both terminal blocks.

Is this an 8 pin adapter?

It's Rj45(usually 4 pair==8) to DB9. The are 9 points to install the wiring to the db9 side. You install the pin-out on the db9 side as needed for like configuring a switch(console cable).
