Its expensive but I am happy how delicious chickpeas are cooked.

I love chana masala and always made it from a box that I purchased at a local store. I since moved, literally, a thousand miles from that spot in the US. I purchased these expecting something similar.The Shan masala has all the right tastes and flavors that you want from this dish, especially when you make it with the onions and ghee/oil at the end. The problem is that it is soooo overly salty! I mean, if you add the recommended amount of the mix, it is nearly inedible because of the salt content. I've made this three times, adjusting the amount of spice, water and even chickpeas- but always got too much salt at the end. I was able to temper this in the end by adding yogurt, which tamped down the salt and made it enjoyable along with my nan/poori.My only warning: Expect lots of salt, especially as the water reduces over 45 minutes.

I loved thd flavor. The convenient packaging makes my lunch time so stress free.
