A1005T Heavy Duty Brass Y 2 Way Garden Hose Connector - 2 PACK - 2 Brass 2-Way Splitter 10 Hose Washers (All Brass)

I bought these hoping for a solid corrosion resistant product for use in a coastal area. They are in fact well made, all brass and non-corroding parts, but they have one flaw... the hose threads easily unscrew from the body of the Y. The first time I unscrewed the hose, the threads came out and the water pressure blew the internal parts of the valve into the grass where I could not find them.Being able to disassemble the valve is a good idea for cleaning and maintenance. It would work perfectly if the threads were left-hand instead of right-hand. Then the valve would not come apart in normal use. Until the manufacturer implements this I would not recommend the product.

I bought the 2-pack in case I needed a spare. These are well made despite some negative reviews. The threaded male parts appear to be separate pressed-in pieces that some reviews showed coming out. They are solidly installed and can't imagine them coming lose unless excessive force is used to tighten the hose or the hose was pulled beyond normal use. The smallish shutoff levers are a bit difficult to turn at first but after working them back and forth a number of times they are easily moved with bare fingers. The levers might be a bit of an issue for someone with joint issues but are easily moved otherwise. Despite a few minor issues, these are still far better than the brass splitters with plastic levers and connector to faucet.

I'm rating this product 3 stars (I'd like to give it 2.5) because one of the Y connectors leaks at the right side on/off lever. It is a loose fitting and water squirts out around where the lever rotates. The screw that holds the lever onto the housing is tight. Can't be tighter but the lever is still loose. The problem is inside. The other Y connector works fine. But I bought two and they should both work.

One was ok but the other leaked no matter how I closed it. I found out that the stop wasn't made to the right position which prevents the valve from completely closing. The quality control of the product is terrible as 50% failure is not acceptable.

I have bought six of these over the past two years, replacing cheaper splitters that were a combination of brass and plastic -- because the plastic developed leaks in 1-2 years. The seller is great -- fast delivery. But I really thought the all-metal units would last much longer -- they appeared to be much stronger. Yet one of my first two has now failed in two ways:1) the seam on the left outlet has now split, so I get a stream of water from the actual brass fixture (see pic); and2) even more annoying, the male coupling going into the fixture puller out of the fixture and is locked solid into the coupling with a brand new, high end hose. I've tried everything I can think of, including a very heavy duty clamping wrench, and can't bust it loose. Only option for me is to cut the new hose and put on a new female coupling.That was the splitter on my back outlet -- checked the other two at this house and see that the splitter on the side outlet is showing signs of a leak at the same place.Bummer

Unfortunately the brass cracked at a seam. See photo. The little valves to turn water flow on and off, are very tight, not for a weaker hand. It was installed last March, so it lasted under 11 months.

very good quality. will buy again if needed. update after install, it broke - twisted right off the handle. Not worth two wood nickels.updates after installation. one leaks the other broke, it twisted right off at the inlet knob. not worth the refund or the shipping label.
