Problems: this books smells like acrylic paint. I'm going to be very disappointed if it starts to chip off... The cover did not have the designs as promised and the *stone* is a painted over stone of SOME kind. No clue what. I ordered the ocean blue.. the designs are painted on (it looks like). I bought this as a present and I'm a little disappointed... For 17 dollars I guess I shouldn't complain.The okay: I guess the leather is okay but I can't tell because it FEELS like paint. I'm going to give my friend the option to keep it or return it. The paper does seem stronger. I feel like this picture is VERY misleading. I'll post pictures as soon as my camera works.

This is a very pretty, nice little journal. Lovely teal blue. Nicely handmade. Smells like leather. Designs are stamped rather than tooled, but well done, so that is okay. My main disappointment is that they advertise 120 pages = 240 sides. Mine has 100 pages, equalling 200 sides. The paper appears handmade and I think they will take a variety of media (pencil, colored pencil, pen and ink, and perhaps a very light wash.I just wish it had 120 pages, but I like it very much and think it is a very nice item, especially for the price.Update 3.16.19 - Just received a red one. It's terrible. Broken stitching around the stone. Smaller clasp on a piece of leather that doesn't match the book. Only 94/188 pages - not the 240 advertised. Worst of all is the paper. It is NOT handmade and acid-free. That means the paper will turn brown eventually.I got lucky the first time, but this journal is junk. The Indians have terrible quality control

Color was NOTHING like advertised, pattern in leather is different and the internal cover materials has a weird texture. But honestly I like the dark green, even if the advertised pic was again very different. I bought the yellow journal before but couldn't find the listing again so I tried this one. Overall still a nice journal, but be open minded with the colors and stones.

I love these!! I have always loved creative writing... until my job started requiring me to write long, monotonous stuff. I am hoping these spark some inspiration since I no longer have that job. They are very pretty. I bought 2 pink ones also. There is a stone on the front cover. The cover does feel like leather, has big stitching and the metal closure is nice. Now it's not going to keep anyone out of it, but I enjoy just looking at these. I am going to have fun writing in them.

This journal is the size I wanted, but the reason I got it was because the stone matches the book in the picture. The book I got has a red stone, that looks like it was painted and was put on the book poorly because some of what looks like hot glue is on it beside the scratch. Also the leather is definitely painted, and does not feel like real leather except where the lock is. The lock works well though.
