Can this timer count from a past date to todays date?

Yes. It’s a tiny bit complicated but it does come with instructions.

Does anyone know if there's a countdown clock that display "years" instead of just days? For example, 1210 days would be displayed "3 years 115 days."

I am assuming that when batteries die, you have to reset everything?

However, you do not need to know where the countdown was at the time when the power was lost. Just reinput the target date and current time and you are back on the countdown.
