Affordable and it works
I just bought my first set of fitted clubs and wanted to know my distances. This unit is great. Simple, accurate and affordable. I researched affordable monitors and kept seeing good reviews on this one. I'm very happy with my purchase

Practice with purpose.
Awesome driving range tool! Gives you swing speed, ball speed smash factor and distance (carry OR total). The instant feedback is awesome. Smash factor tells you how efficiently you hit the ball. I noticed there were times when i hit the ball nice and pure and the swing speed was not as high as some swings but the distance was further because I hit it well. Fits right in my pocket!

Affordable, Entry Level, Stand-alone Launch Monitor that easily fits in your golf bag.
While some launch monitors will apparently give you a speed reading when swinging a stick (based on several Youtube videos posted by golf pros), the new model of the PRGR (HS-130A) requires you to actually hit a real golf ball with a real golf club to provide anywhere close to an accurate reading. When hitting into a net, the distance numbers are way off. Club head speed, smash factor and ball speed may be more accurate, but are probably more reliable when ball flight is not being stopped by a net. Merely swinging a club provided ridiculously low speed readings, but readings were much more realistic when hitting an actual golf ball. These things are important to know PRIOR to making a buy decision. Unfortunately, my decision was made after watching another Youtube video, but prior to reading some of the other reviews on Amazon. Considering the price of this device relative to the competition, one should expect some compromise. The value of this thing is as a tool for monitoring progress when training for improved performance . It will likely deflate your ego, rather than stoke it. If money is no object, you might be happier with one of the more expensive launch monitors that will give you ridiculously high swing speeds while swinging a light stick, or one that will display ball spin, which the PRGR will not do. PROs: Low cost, relative to other launch monitors, unit easily fits in your bag, does not require internet connectivity, software subscriptions, or interface with smart phone or watch. Records data in memory that can be scrolled for later review. CONs: lacks some features of higher priced models, questionable accuracy, must be used on golf course or driving range to get somewhat reliable readings for all metrics displayed. Less useful for indoor practice sessions hitting into a net. Does not interface with any simulators or other devices.

Great little launch monitor
I bought this launch monitor the other day on sale for $199.00 and used it at the range at the CC this morning and it is so easy to set up and seem to be very accurate but it really can't tell about distance because our range has an elevated tee area then dives off and the ball gets lost once it drops of but gave me all the feedback I need. I'll try it on a flat surface but as of now really happy with something this cheap. My son is a Class A pro and bought him a $29,000.00 trackman which does everything but this is all I need for swing speed, ball speed, smash factor, and distance. Easy to read screen a resets for the next quickly.Would recommend for something you can keep in your bag at a very reasonable price.

Features and price
The features and quality are excellant for the price. I like the size but do have a problem reading the screen on the ground with out bending over or picking it up. Features are just what I need for the driving range.

Not worth it
So many misreads. No data for most of my woods and hybrids, only club speed. Even irons are intermittently shown. Not worth the hassle

No ball required for speed training.
Not sure how much room you need in front of you to read. My readings have been all over the place. Outside it works ok.

Consistent data in a pocket sized package
Worked right out of the box. Swing speed aligned with previous speeds recorded on higher end launch monitors. Easy to use on the range.
