This trimmer is exactly what it claims to be. It is an efficient and effective way to get rid of facial hair as well as unwanted body hair. It is not fancy and does not have all the bells and whistles that some of the more expensive options provide but if you are looking for an electric razor to trim and maintain your look then this is a product that is well worth the cost. I have used many electric razors in the past and I am always trying to maintain a certain look with my facial hair. I typically let my beard grow until it is decently long and starts to look a little unkempt. After that I like to do the 5 o'clock shadow look and trim and maintain until it grows out again. This is razor is great for my needs. It has preset guards that I can use to get the exact length I am looking for. They fit perfectly and you wont have to worry about them getting lose while shaving. The guards are great for any short look and the 5 o'clock shadow look that I use but they do not have a lot of settings if you want a longer beard. There is an adjustable guard for that if you desire but I did not find that to be as reliable as the preset guards. The razor is the exact size and look you would expect and it actually is a higher quality material then you would think for this price. It feels sturdy and not as cheap as some of the other electrics I have used in the past. This is battery powered so please be aware that you will need to spend money on batteries in the future which obviously makes the cost less impressive. I did notice that it is very powerful for an electric and compared to the wall plug inexpensive razor I was using before this is much stronger and I was not worried about pulling my hair or not getting the job done. This is a very basic trimmer that is great for someone who needs to shave quickly or on the road. It is not going to substitute your razorblades for a close and clean shave but it will allow you to clean up if you only have a couple minutes and it does a really good job at getting rid of hair in unwanted places. I use a razor-blade once a week to clean up my neck hair and to shave my line and then I use this daily or as needed to keep my beard the length I want and to clean up if I dont have time for a blade shave. Manscaping is also possible with this razor and I use the guards to make sure I don't cut myself. It works. Overall I would recommend this to anyone who needs an electric because for the price this product is way better then what you pay for.

We gave this to our grandson as part of his Christmas presents. When asked for his opinion, he said "I think it's great. It works really well and I'm happy with it. Thank you for it!". Enough said, right?

The media could not be loaded. This is my second Wahl trimmer. My first trimmer is 12 years old and still works but the blades are dull and have started to rust. I prefer battery operated models. I hope this one works as well as the first.The first thing I noticed is that the plastic has a much cheaper feel than my first trimmer. This includes the blade guides. They are made of a softer plastic. You get 4 guides and none of them are marked with the traditional numbers. You kinda have to guess at which one you need. The stand is also lightweight plastic and not of much use. I never used the stands anyway. I prefer glass containers that I can easily wash.The brush and oil are included, I suggest oiling with a drop on each side before use. I really prolongs the life and prevents rusting. Also, it helps to keep hairs from getting 'caught' and pulling. I keep rub a drop or two on each side and rub it in with my finger, turn the trimmer 'on' to let the oil move around, turn it off then wipe off the excess oil with a paper towel.Beard trimmer takes 2 AA batteries and the nose trimmer takes 1 AA battery. No batteries are included.I have used this twice. It works. I dislike the quality of the guides. They do not work nor fit as well as my original Wahl. The nose trimmer battery compartment door is not easy to remove/replace. The nose trimmer seems to lack power compared to previous nose trimmers I have used. The round nose trimmers just don't work as well anyway.Hope the video gives you an idea of what is in the clamshell package. I bought this to replace Model 5537N. I had this same kit for over 5 years. In fact, it is still working. But my wife was trimming my hair last week. I heard the trimmer occasionally changing pitch, and knew it might be a good idea to get another one. So now the old one is put away, and this new one on trial, but seems to be doing fine so far. The only difference I see is the blade mechanism in the new trimmer appears to have a metal sliding plate where my old one was plastic. So I would think this new trimmer would outlast the older one. Hopefully. Time will tell. Like the AA battery option. If I experience the failures I have read about in reviews, I'll post it! But as of now, I am very pleased.

The product works as advertised. Would prefer a more heavy feel in the hand. Had Wahl "corded" trimmers before and loved them. My bad for not paying attention to listing. Remember, you will need batteries. However there is no power outlet in my new bathroom so perfect choice. Kinda.

Pays for itself with one use! my original Wahl trimmer last 7 years. Replacement steel items too difficult to replace end up costing same as new Wahl Trimmer. Works great. Cuts through thick hair!
