super helpful
As a teacher who has realised they have adhd in late 20’s this book has been super helpful and informative. I began my research into inattentive ADHD to support my students and realised quickly, that this explained my own struggles. I was recommended this book by a colleague, and despite having a fair amount of knowledge through my teacher training, this book has been hugely informative , making changes to my life s well as the students I teach. Definitely buy.

The best ADHD book I've read!
I'm a Psychotherapist and support clients with ADHD. This book was recommended to me by a client and I'm so glad. It's easy to read, makes sense, has good information about medication etc. I'd recommend.

An excellent introduction to this subject
I am a psychotherapist and also have an ADHD daughter. I wanted to understand this a lot more - and the book provided excellent information and strategies. I am not really pro medicine - but the book did open my mind to the possibility. But it did give me other strategies and a lot of understanding about how the ADHD mind works. I also discovered the term VAST (variable attention stimulus trait) which suggests ADHD is on a spectrum of severity with VAST highlighting the benefits. Well worth reading

An easy read for the ADHD audience
Easy, friendly and quick to read. Personally, I did feel like it lacks scientific background - tons of anecdotal evidence, very scarce descriptions of actual proof behind the claims.

Informative
Clearly written to give a good insight into ADHD

Full of affiliate links and the authors support ABA.
The headline says it all. Whole chapters are dedicated to sending you off to purchase products or services from the author’s colleagues.Scientific method goes out the window when it comes to up-selling, apparently. Rigorous peer-reviewed study is the standard we should look for, unless it’s to shill for some services or snake oil in which case “this helped me, so you should try it” is just dandy. The cherry on top is the absolutely unnecessary declaration that ABA “works”. Most ND people would and should be horrified at ABA which is an abusive practice akin to conversion therapy.

Strange book
Felt like reading some marketing pitch for some further services. They’ve even invented a new world for ADHD, for those that can’t qualify for ADHD - very strange.

Learned nothing new
I really, really wanted to love this book. I listen to the podcast ‘adhd for smart ass women’ podcast (great by the way) and the host said this was like the adhd bible. I learned nothing I hadn’t already heard on tiktok or Instagram. I don’t need to pay £17 to be told I need to exercise and eat right 🤦♀️ I’m feeling glum. Read if it you’re new to the topic. If you know a fair bit already you will learn nothing new.
