PAINT, PAINT, PAINT!
If this is going on an inboard/outboard motor (mercruiser) you need to paint it good with a Rust-Oleum paint before putting it on. We bought a used houseboat with one someone put it on non-painted, it rusted so bad it fell apart getting it out, the salt water splashing up from the bilge area got into the brushes, etc., and it didn't last long. We painted it with the thick hammered paint from Rust-Oleum painted the areas and seams where it's put together and painted the body of it and it still looks new.

Does not work for 3860566 as stated. No "R" pin for purple relay. No instructions for alternative wiring.
