Q: Is there a difference performance wise between this and the Glidecam HD-2000?

You get the same performance in terms of operation and smooth shots. The only difference is design: the Devin Graham series is designed for cameras from 2-12 lbs while the HD-2000 is for cameras 2-6 lbs. The Devin Graham series features an unique re-positionable gimbal which gives you greater flexibility in balancing cameras with uneven weight distributions, like front-heavy lenses.

On the Devin Graham Series, you can reposition (move) the gimbal along the central post. This feature is found on high-end stabilizers (body-mounted systems) and is a first for handheld stabilizers. It allows to balance cameras from 2-12 lbs. Stabilizers with a fixed gimbal have a smaller balance range: HD-2000 (2-6 lbs) HD-4000 (4-10 lbs) With a redesigned camera platform and dovetail plate, laser-etched markings on the central post, a repositionable gimbal, the Devin Graham Series is a significant improvement over other Glidecam stabilzers.

Any system similar to the Glidecam X-10 (arm center post into stabilizer handle). Obvious choice if you want to stay in brand but it's not cheap. I have the X-10 system and like to use it for long shots and for heavier camera rigs. There are other systems that are cheaper.

Q: Can you use this with a camera that is less than 2 lbs? Mine is 1.5 lbs

The add says 2 up to 12 pounds. I would guess you may have to add some weight to get it into that range.
