Desoldering Pumps with Desoldering Wicks

Great solder sucker and desoldering wick.

Copper mesh works resonably well. It distributes the heat over the flux and adsorbs the majority of residue, but no all the flux. The solder sucker is a little difficult to get just right. After all it is a small pin, a small vacuum, and a small amount of solder ball that you are trying to remove. I haven’t tried to suck up excess solder with the copper wick yet. Hopefully capillary forces in the mesh will be greater than the solder ball adhesion.
