Excellent Product w/ one limitation
I purchased this product May 3, 2016 and have utilized it several times since for mostly Kayak-related applications during sunny and rainy weather. I have to say I am very impressed as the product lives up to its promises. The material is very durable as I am pretty rough with how I toss my equipment on my kayak and in the back of my trunk. It has been utilized in heavy winds and rain as well as being plopped down in the ground in snow while unloading more sensitive luggage during a road trip. I have never had any issues with the contents of my drybag getting wet.The inflation and compression valve work great and have been vital in my ability to quickly compress my bag. I have even used it as a shower a few times but am thinking I might try to find a compatible shower head for it as that would work a lot better than just opening the valve. The handle is tough and sturdy as are the useful shoulder straps and clips - these make carrying the bag on hikes very easy. The overall quality of the material is tough and though I did experience I slight rubbery smell when I first received the drybag, it faded almost immediately and I have not smelt it since. I may have a newer unit in which this issue was addressed so that may be why.The only issue I ran into, which is a small one but one which complicates my use of the drybag, is its ability to hold air when it is inflated via the valve. The air tends to last roughly half an hour before deflating slightly, enough to make me question it's ability to float should it call over during kayaking. I tend to use the cargo straps in my kayak to secure other items like my water supply so I tend to just secure a single line to my drybag and let it sit on top of the cargo area. My kayak trips are usually hours long and with a bag that loses air and needs reinflation every half hour to keep it inflated enough to float, it adds an additional stressor (minor one) to my checklist. I have utilized several drybags so I am aware of how to properly close one for a proper water seal, and this one definitely keeps the water out; I just need it to keep the air in. Other than this small issue, this is a solid product and I would definitely recommend it to others (already have).I have the green/black color scheme and absolutely love it. I would love for them to have a yellow or orange option with reflective coating as those help in night kayaking, but that is just a wish list item and I use flow sticks and headlamps to keep myself visible at night.Additionally, I have found this company's customer service to be honest in suggesting other brands for specific uses/needs of their product is not designed for what I'm looking for, and they have been very helpful in answering questions and addressing user feedback in updates to their products. I am hoping they will have a fix to the air retention issue soon.

Excellent potential for moto-camping.
This thing is definitely well constructed with good material. It has 6 D-rings: 2 at the roll points, 2 at the base, and 2 at the handle. Ot comes with back straps but I'll be testing it out as a functional motorcycle duffel. The D-rings are plastic but they appear fairly heavy duty, as does the actual material. The stitching looks hearty, so I dont see why the D-rings wouldn't be sufficient as anchor points for tie downs, other than the way they face. Still, if attaching this to other luggage or supplementing it with a cargo net, it should be just fine. I haven't tested it out though. I will get to that in a couple of weeks and update this review accordingly.I got mine yesterday and tested it out last night as a portable washing sack for laundry, lol. It worked but the location of the valve made it a little cumbersome to get all of the water drained from the lower portion of the sack. Still, it held water with no leaks and would absolutely function as a camp shower, too. The material is very heavy duty and it rolls up water tight without any issue. The air release valve is fairly large (I'd say about a half inch diameter) and is a screw-plug (as opposed to a pull-plug) design but it is very easy to work with and maximizes the amount of air you can release quickly. I used it with hands covered in soapy water and had no issues threading it back on. The inlet valve is similar to that you see on air mattresses. I can easily fit my 40 degree down sleeping bag, sleeping pad, hammock, and pillow in here with plenty of room for a few pairs of underwear, socks, and shirts. Jean's might be pushing it, but if I wanted to do a single fold at the lip, I could make it work. It would also easily fit my tent and some other supplies. But I pack that separately anyway.** Side note: If for some reason someone opted to use this as a portable ice sack, you could probably fit a 6 pack of beer or a few bottles of wine. I'm not sure what the weight threshold on the handle and strap points are but it held about 4 gallons of water weight without stress so I'd be mindful of that if you're gonna use it to carry water or other liquid weight. All in all, for 30 bucks this sack will definitely serve many purposes.

Submerged half mile down river!
I want to first clarify that I am in no way associated with this company other than I am now a life time customer.I went on a kayake trip with some friends in Austin. Geared with my 30L Tektite dry bag on a 30 mile 2 day kayak journey on the Colorado river in Austin Tx. Flood gates had recently opened due to storms causing pretty fast currents in the river. Well, 2nd day in and I took a spill with my Tektite dry bag under water in tow... my life jacket is keeping me afloat while I'm holding the end handle of my kayake and my Tektite bag is completely submerged! ....under water for half a mile down the river before reaching a dry spot. My tektite dry bag kept my clothes, wallet and iphone completely dry! it also saved my yeti cooler full of beer. I had bungee cords tied from my Yeti cooler to the Tektite dry bag handle! not making this up! to top it off, I used my bag as my pillow both nights camping- saw the idea it in the instructions. I didn't think I'd have such an awesome experience with a product but had to share this with someone who might ask if this is worth every penny...yes, it is! great product. I'm getting the 20L next!

Great first dry bag
This is my first dry bag purchase and it doesn't disappoint!I used it on my motorcycle for a three-day camping trip a day or two after it arrived. It was as pictured and appears to be very well made. I was able to put my 2 man plus tent in it as well as my Big Agnes sleeping bag.I did not notice a strong odor as some have mentioned. Given the materials it's made of, I would have understood if it arrived with one, but what I could smell was expected and mild at best. Definitely did not transfer to the tent or sleeping bag.Again, the bag appears well made, the valve is a nice touch, and the straps and closures are well-attached and of a good quality. I wish there were a larger one for some other gear!
