For sizing, the S/M usaully works best with 16.5-17.5 inch saddles, while the M/L is ideal for 18-18.5 inch saddles. Keep in mind these are sizing estimates. For example, some bulkier 17.5 dressage saddles may need a M/L. Please refer to the actual sizes to get the best one for your saddle: M/L is 25" long, while the S/M is 23.5" long. Both of these measurements include the fleece.

Great Quality - pay attention to size description
I am very pleased with this half pad and the shim options. Quality is very good and the ability to shim allows me to adjust my saddle fit to my mare as she develops.I'm riding in a 17.5" Schleese dressage saddle, so I took the seller's recommendation to bump up to the larger size (they said that a bulkier 17.5" dressage saddle may require the larger pad). In the perfect world, it could be probably a half inch shorter, but I think the 16.5-17.5 size would have been too small for my saddle, so I'm pleased with the size. Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase!
