Great starter before moving on to open-top, regular cups
My two year old has several of the Skip Hop Otis the Owl products already, so I was excited to get this for her. I've been interested in trying one of these cup-trainers for awhile, but hadn't bit the bullet. This was too cute to pass up! Bonus: dishwasher safe and BPA-free, PVC-free, Phthalate-free!So far, we've just used water in it, and it seems to work well. I really liked that this cup is more cube-shaped than totally rounded like a normal cup, which really helps it not be so slippery in my toddler's little grip. Evidently that is to also prevent it from rolling, too. The cup part is translucent, so you can see how full it is. It has a "lid lock for travel" to prevent leaks, by just twisting the top of the lid and snapping it into place. I thought I'd done that (by clicking it into place) and we ended up with minor leakage -- that could have been entirely user error, and I haven't put that feature to the test again. The lid/spout part has a little dial-like piece of silicone. that you can twist for a slow or faster flow of liquid. Since my daughter is used to sippy cups or straws, we're using the slow. Occasionally she does get too much water and can't keep up with swallowing, so we do get a big mess of water down her front. When I tried the cup, I realized there is a slight delay in the release of water, which may cause you to tip the cup more than necessary, so be aware of that.My toddler requests this cup frequently, so we may purchase another one to swap out between cleanings.

A colorful sturdy training/transition cup
First off I love that this trainer doesn't have a spout. The inner cup prevents too much liquid from escaping at once and bathing your toddler but still allows them to learn how to tip the cup up and sip from the edge. Where as with a spout my little one is walking around with the training cup pointed at the ceiling. The bold colors are pretty in person and the cup has a squared bottom transitioning into a circle on the top. I think this adds visual interest as well as making it easy for little hands to hold. The owl design is subtle so it doesn't feel out of place if it is the only Skip Hop item in your cupboard (which it's not). The cup itself holds a little over 1 cup of liquid so just about the right amount for your toddler to drink. With the top off the blue base becomes a regular cup so it really will grow with your child. Our 18 month old is able to use it with or without the top on.I've found this cup to be easy to clean both by hand (no odd edges so you can use a washcloth and not a bottle brush) or in the dishwasher on the top rack. Normally I don't trust our dishwasher with plastics but this cup made it through just fine.

Great transition cup
These cups are great with one exception, which I'll note below. First off, the design is great. The colors are rich and since the animal characters on the cups are molded/embossed in the cup so there isn't paint or a sticker to scratch off. Plus it is much more understated, which is a blessing in a house full of bright kids' stuff. Second the squared off base does keep the cup from rolling around for when the kids drop them. There are gaskets and o-rings all over to keep them from leaking. It's easy to change the cups from slow to fast flow. The main issue is the lid design. It doesn't leak or anything, but the instructions note to open the lid to drink to turn the lid to the left (counter clockwise) past a "click." That's fine, but it sort of makes you think turning right past the "click" means it's closed, but it's not. It's a whole half turn past the clock to seal the cup.But overall a great cup for transitioning to cups.

Produto de qualidade, no entanto pouco prático
O produto tem alta qualidade e muita resitência. No entanto, para as criancas não é tão prático, pois acumula líquido na tampa e as vezes a criança se engasga ,além de derramar um pouco do líquido.
