A real beast!
This chain and lock really live up to their name. I recently had a bike stolen and they used an angle grinder on a £20 chain I had on so I had to upgrade. The Beast is heavy at about 9lbs but it is still semi portable in a rucksack as it packs down relatively small. I know nothing can withstand an angle grinder but I bet this puts up a fight and will probably deter most thieves. I don't think bolt cutters etc. would even put a mark in it. One thing to note is the lock mechanism is a bit tight and fiddly at first. The sleeve is great quality material and should stop any scratches to the bike.I'm pairing this with a solid D lock and expect to never come back to a stolen bike.

Great lock, strong as Arnold, cheap looking keys, only able to register in the US.
Ok this is a fantastic lock. The lock itself is heavy, stupidly strong looking and perfect if you want to leave your bike and know it's going to be there when you go back to it. The lock works perfectly and is easy to lock/unlock. Anyone who finds it tricky, are probably too stupid to work out, one slightly smaller link, goes through one slightly larger link before putting on the padlock. It's an ideal lock to use in the shed to lock your bike/motorbike or anything else you want to keep. I bought it as a bike lock. And although i will use it when locking my better bike in dodgy areas, i'm not sure i'll use it as a bike lock all the time as it is a bit heavy. But i knew that before i bought it. The reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5, is the fact the keys look a little cheap. You get 5 though. And i'll keep a spare on my key ring just in case. Also i live in the UK. And you can only register the lock in the US.

Tough as old boots
This is an excellent padlock. Very tough with a rugged, but soft protective sleeve around the chain that doesn't damage your paintwork. You get 5 keys and one has a LED light in it, useful for finding the hole in the dark. The padlock itself is also shielded in soft rubber, so again no paint damage and with bright yellow colours shows a good security product fitted for would be thieves.

One chunky lock and chain - they appear to be thick and strong...However, for outside use they do not have a cover for the keyhole. Time will tell if this is a flaw.

Pick this one!
Use this with my ground anchor and on its own sometimes, and it's bulletproof. Also been leaving it outside where it often gets rained on and it's been a year and it still looks great and works perfect. If you're going to spend good money on a chain make it this one!

This would be better to tie up your yacht than use as a bycycle security device, Its definitely a beast or if you want a workout on your bike, take this if you can find somewhere to store it, possibly a bike trailer.

Three Stars
Very secure, but way too big and heavy for a push bike. Would be more suitable for a motorbike.

BEWARE: do NOT buy this piece of shi*t
I live in Amsterdam, and I have been using a bike pretty much daily my whole life. I have seen and used many different locks in that period, and I have never seen anything as bad as this. When I received the lock I already noticed the finishing wasn't that nice, but since it isn't a piece of jewelry I decided not to pay to much attention to it. I did like the fact that there are so many keys (5), about one for every month of the expected lifetime it appears. After a day or two I was a little annoyed by the fact that the piece of velcro holding the sleeve in place isn't nearly strong enough, thus the sleeve is moving to the end of the chain all the time. After a month or so, I noticed one of the allen screws holding the bottom end had disappeared. Then the lock started acting up. It was getting hard to open or close the lock. With some WD40 this was easily resolved. It seems this lock needs lubing every month or so, I've tried WD40 (as recommended by the manufacturer), lock oil, white grease etc but nothing lasts longer than a month. As a comparison: I can't even remember when I last lubed my 10 year old U-lock I wanted to replace. On top of that, when this lock needs lubing, you need to do so immediately, since otherwise it just won't open. Then today came the grande finale. I opened my lock, and it just fell apart. See attached picture what happens when I open my lock now.So, when I came home today, I decided I'd had enough, and replaced this lock with my 10 year old U-lock again. Please, if you need a new lock, skip this one. It is very expensive for some scrap metal.
