LED LED High Bay Light, 4FT, 2200lm, 5000K (Super Bright White), 20W, Utility Shop Light, Ceiling Light, Corded Electric with Built-in ON/Off Switch

I wanted lights for my basement. I had the old school flood lights hanging from the ceiling from the 1980s that have recently all started dying with pull cords breaking. So I decided to go uber-modern. They're easy to use, super light, and I don't think you need any knowledge of anything in order to use them. If I really wanted to make them perfect, I'd hide the cord better, but it's hanging down and then I linked them all down the ceiling of my basement. They create quite a reasonable amount of light, the color isn't creepy/disgusting, and they work well. More impressively, my wife doesn't hate them - and she hates EVERYTHING! Including me, so that's good. (she doesn't really, we're quite in love all of the time every second).Anyway, this package was perfect for my window-less basement that's like 30 feet long.

These tube lights pose a shock hazard. The power cord provided is only a two prong plug. That would be acceptable for electronics that are totally enclosed within a plastic case. If such a device were to develop an internal short, the plastic case protects you. But these tube lights have an aluminum case. If you look at the picture I included, you can see the wires that are tucked into the aluminum case at one end. These wires carry the full 120 volts and run the entire length of the tube. If one of these wires were to come loose or develop a bare spot on the insulation and touch the ungrounded aluminum case, the aluminum case itself would become a “hot” wire. Should you touch it while the tube is plugged in, a serious shock could result. Electrical devices like this with a metal case require the use of a three prong plug so that the case is grounded and the user is protected from an internal short to the case.It’s easy to see why these units do not have the UL approved label on them. I am very surprised electric devices like this without proper grounding are permitted to be sold in the first place.Since I did not want to throw these away, I removed the two prong power cord and hardwired the tubes to an outlet box and added a ground wire to the aluminum case to make them safer.As far as the lighting output by these tubes, they provide more than enough light for under cabinet use, but are too dim for ceiling lights such as in a garage.Bottom line is I would not recommend these. Get something that is UL approved. If you buy these, NEVER touch the aluminum case while the light is plugged in.

These have a whiter light compared to florescent tubes. Very simple design and easy to install. Be careful when installing the fixture to the clips--they are very thin and bend easily! The led light fixtures run straight off the mains and no ballast or transformer is needed. Maybe that's why they are so cheap. In use on low ceilings these things could use a little more diffusion. My only gripe I have about them is that I did not get enough power/switch cords. I ordered 2 six-packs and only got three cords. I'll have to use the coupling cords and splice a power wire on to it. Well three out of twelve isn't bad considering....(but I did get free shipping) Still a good deal on sale!

I have mixed opinions on these after installing 2 sets of the 6-lamp pack.Good: easy install, all the required parts were included in the kit to butt them, daisy them and/or plug them in. The light they produce is even in color temp, and brightness is good. You can purchase longer extensions. Turn on is quick, no audible buzzing.Bad: they are not grounded. They produce a ton of EMF interference on the power circuit and right in the 300-400 mHz range. That means it interferes with homelink transmitters and will not open the garage door when the lights are powered on. I had to place an aluminum shield on the garage door opener motor to make it work again.So the price and light output is good, but they have their drawbacks. Ymmv

Replaced fluorescent light fixtures no longer working correctly. Very pleased with the low profile look, easy install and amount of light they provide (better than my previous lights). Low energy LED will also be a benefit that I expect to see with upcoming energy bills. A tremendous value at just $40 for 6 lights!Buyer should be aware that at end of these led lights lifespan, you will need to replace the entire unit. EXTREMELY easy to do, but you should keep the light fixture information (your Amazon order will do) so that you buy the correct model.

I bought these lights for my 24x24 foot garage which is still under construction. I don't have my floor heat system completed yet so my garage can get very cold. I live in Canada and right now it is around -20C.I wasn't sure how these lights would perform in these conditions but I am very pleased as they start very well even in very cold conditions.I am extremely impressed with the brightness and ease of installation.I most certainly would buy them again and have already recommended them to a number of my friends

These lights are awesome, I used 11 of them in a 30x40 storage shed and 1 in a 8x14 storage shed. Both storage sheds are lit up very bright I'm very amazed at the amount of light they put out. I probably could've only used 8 in the 30x40 shed and I think it would've been fine but I had the extras so I used them up.

These claim to have a 50000 hour lifespan, but they didn't even last 10000 hours.

Product didn't last.....3 of the 6 units are dead. They all had very little use. Installed in the utility room and laundry room. They worked great for the first little while but obviously there is a longevity issue. Light are/were used maybe 30-60 minutes per day, 4 days per week. There is less than 1000 hours of use. It is disappointing that half of them are already dead.

Amazing lights! I have ordered these 3 times and they’re so good. So light, bright, easy to install, and CHEAP!
