Dog boots border collie size
I have been buying these boots for my border collie for 2 yrs now & they have always worked well. This pair however were not so good the size was fine but on one boot the Velcro tapes were slightly further apart and have rubbed my dogs dew claw against her foot causing an injury. She has to wear boots for running with me when i cycle as she was tearing her pads up quite badly when we went out. she has done worn them for the last 2 yrs without a problem. The boots have saved us a lot of sore paws and she likes wearing them. I am hoping it was just a faulty boot but missed the deadline for returning them, so will have to buy another pair now. This hasn't put me off this product, but i would suggest to anyone buying them that they check the tapes are evenly spaced. Previous pairs have been great they have never come off and my dog takes about 6 mths to wear them out bearing in mind she wears them about 3 times a week most weeks so normally they are a good buy.hope this helps anyone looking for a sturdy all terrain boot for their dog.

They DO work!
Well after reading the reviews and knowing i WILL need a pair of these booties at some stage the mutts bound to cut his pad or something on the beach walk etc. Having these handy IF a situation crops up is very handy, if you have a dog that NEEDS constant exercise having a bandage or such on a foot is a bit of a hindrance. Having these will help to keep the exercise up without getting the dressing all dirty and wet.And what do you know he's had his dew claw removed and bandaged up, we cracked out a bootie and placed this on him, DO THESE UP TIGHT WITH THE BUCKLE VELCRO STRAP. and the 2ndary strap is just there to keep things held up, it's important you get a good tight grip with the buckle one thou, i have a Dalmatian and he runs n runs n runs, and the boot stays put! Also very handy for getting into the kayak or onto a boat, the slipper surfaces a dog would normally struggle on he's fine with his little grips on the bottom of the booties, VERY HANDY for round the side of swimming pools etc i would imagine, dog gets far better purchase on wet surface areas!

Dog shoe
Perfect fit for my dog. Is not however a waterproof product so would not be useful for a dog with a foot injury you want to keep dry

Good idea,poorly made
My dogs rear feet drag causing his nails which get worn down causing to bleed, got him these which lasted couple of weeks due to weak plastic, material wearing down allowing his nails to come out, thus these became not fit for purpose, the company needs to reinforce toe cap area on top and also the sole which came away to quickly.

Every dog needs trainers!
Sceptical as I was before i bought it, I have to say that I'm impressed with this dog boot idea.We had to cover a pointer's rear paw that had been cut by glass, and although i couldn't use it early on as the vets bandage was too big, once the dog had chewed this off!!, we went with the boot and some small cushion plasters. She got used to it quickly, and enabled us to walk her for the first 6 days .day 7, Now the real test...can she run in it...being a pointer they are not short of a turn of speed, and so i let her off in one of the fields nearby, fuelled by 6 days of mundane walking and the sight of a rabbit nearby she took off like Usain bolt!.The boot did eventually come off once in over 30 mins of high speed action! but maybe as the second Velcro strap may have got snagged and pulled back (its rough ground). I did find it again as its open land, but if it had been woodland it would have been lost. But at £6 per boot its not a huge issue (the vet bill was enough)ProsLight, easy to fit, protects well, "its like a trainer for dogs"consfluorescent band may make it easier to see on the dog or the boot 100 metres awaybit more padding round the neck may be a help as you must get it as tight as possibletipsmake sure its tight and check regularwash afterwards and make sure the Velcro is clean of bits that make it tricky to adhere toobuy one as a spare!

When I eventually got the boots onto our old boy, he couldn't walk in them at all. Tried many different options but none worked and he is a very good cooperative collie. No good for us.

Gave my collie back his freedom
Following an aneurysm one of my collies developed a dropped back foot, this meant he would scrape the front of his foot as he walked. We tried shoes from the Vets but frankly they were so flimsy as to be worthless, we had to constantly repair them with gaffer tape. This boot is both cheaper and far better. The velcro keeps it on securely, the rubber sole is hard wearing but comfortable, the fit is for my collie a little large but they are small collies, so probably it's about right. They do wear out eventually, but if they were more hard wearing I feel they would be uncomfortable. My advice is have a pair to hand before the injury, as otherwise you will be forced to buy expensive poor quality boots in a hurry.

They actually stay on!
These are an excellent boot for rugged outdoors. They saved my bull terrier's paws. Ordering a second set so he can have them on all 4 paws. Worth the price.
