Great tea.
Great tea. There was a time when even my North Riding Yorkshire lass wife preferred the regular Glengettie to Yorkshire Gold. Then it became difficult to find, even on Amazon, as well as in England. Then we found a box, but it must have been stale, because it was not as good as it used to be and we gave up on Glengettie. Then we noticed the Glengettie Gold, and decided to give the brand one more try. We are not sorry that we did so. It is richer, stronger, maltier, and, yet, smoother and less bitter than the non-Gold Glengettie and both regular Yorkshire and Yorkshire Gold tea, as well as Taylor of Harrogate's excellent Scottish Breakfast and Pure Assam teas. It even tastes great without sugar and milk, and after prolonged steeping, a rarity for black tea. Incidentally the Assam component of the Glengettie Gold really enhances the tea. Now Glengettie Gold is our favorite tea.A minor detail that is not clear from the Amazon site information and the labelling on the box - the tea is divided into two foil wrapped groups of 40 tea bags. The tea bags are not individually wrapped in foil.

We LOVE great tea and this is one of the BEST!
In order to appreciate tea you need to change tea types every day in order to keep your palate from getting too used to something and diminishing your ability to actually taste a tea. We've been ordering well known tea brands from Scotland & Wales for years and this one is a definite 'must have' in our cupboard.
