Restored dry leather wallet to former glory
I accidentally put my beautiful minimalist leather wallet that my boyfriend bought me through both the wash and drier. In tears, I asked him what I should to do restore my wallet to its former beauty and he recommended this product. I applied this to the leather several times and my wallet looked good as new. Before the leather had been incredibly dry and brittle feeling. Afterwards it was as good as when he gave it to me. Writing this review years later, it reminds me that it’s probably time to apply it to my wallet again. Great product and it doesn’t take much so it lasts forever.

Saved my Docs! Third product I tried!!!
This SAVED my Doc Martens!!! I used two different leather conditioners (ones that were highly recommended by a vintage clothing stop - who restores old leather pieces) and my Docs looked worse each time... Some areas of my boots started looking lighter and faded (still looking for a picture of them from before - will upload if I can find it). My friend who owns the vintage clothing shop said it's probably poor quality dye on the leather (which doesn't surprise me b/c Docs aren't the brand they used to be).She suggested I find a leather worker who might be able to refinish the boots for me but I wasnt sure if that was worth the time/money... So, I bought this otter wax as a last ditch effort. I put it on last night and they look WAY better! No more blotchy color and the leather looks hydrated again. FINALLY!I can't speak to all boots, but mine did get slightly darker with this wax, BUT I am totally fine with that considering the leather was getting ashy and close to cracking. (There's also a possibility that this IS the original color but I was getting used to the blotchy ashy look) I have a feeling it's the original finish (or lack of finish) on these boots was the problem all along. This will likely be the last pair of Docs I buy but I'm grateful for the couple bucks I spent to keep them around awhile longer!

Tiny little jar of product
This is a little jar but it works like a big jar! I have used it on leather purses and shoes and it creates a beautiful shine and glow on whatever it touches. Use a soft cloth and rub in until it starts to shine.

Revives Leather Like Magic!
The Otter Wax Leather Salve is an incredible product that exceeded my expectations. Here’s what stood out:Pros:Amazing Conditioning Power: This salve brought my old, worn-out leather boots back to life! It deeply conditions and restores softness without leaving them greasy.All-Natural Formula: Knowing it’s made with all-natural ingredients gives me peace of mind. It’s gentle yet effective and safe for all types of leather.Versatility: I’ve used it on boots, bags, and even a leather couch, and it worked wonders on each item.Compact and Long-Lasting: The 2oz tin may seem small, but a little goes a long way. It’s compact and easy to store.Made in the USA: I appreciate supporting a high-quality product that’s made locally.Cons:Application Takes Time: Because it’s a salve, you need to apply it by hand and buff it in, which can take a bit longer than sprays. However, the results are well worth the effort. No Instant Shine: If you’re looking for a high-gloss finish, this salve won’t provide that. It’s more about deep conditioning and restoring.Overall:The Otter Wax Leather Salve is perfect for anyone who wants to rejuvenate and protect their leather items naturally. It’s effective, versatile, and easy to use with a little patience. Highly recommended for extending the life of your favorite leather pieces!

Make your designer purse looking brand new!
It works and I purchased made in USA. I wiped clean my designer purse that I love but was showing a little wear, then I used a thin rag/cloth and wiped on top of the salve for a little bit onto cloth and applied in circular motion to the handbag, like you would shoes like the military does. It’s all I know watching my dad years ago. Lol. Then I let it sit overnight and wiped with a fresh dry thin cloth. Not greasy and feels and looks brand new!

Don't use for faux leather.
I used this conditioner on both faux leather and genuine leather. I always thought one had to take shoes in to a professional to get this done so I'd never done it because I lacked the extra money. The only leather shoes I had conditioned were my mother's hand-me-down leather flats that she had conditioned professionally just before giving them to me.Brown real leather boots: ~5 or 6 years old, never conditionedJust after the application: definitely darkened the boots, but seems to buff out surface scratchesAfter 3 days:While the scratches were buffed, it looks like the leather has darkened and in some spots there is chalkiness. I can't tell if they were better before or after the conditioning. I followed the directions, it states the leather will lighten as it dries but it did not. Went from chocolate boots to espresso.Black faux leather boots: 1-2 years old, never conditionedJust after the application: appeared more matte/less shiny than unconditioned boot. Likely the "hazy" affect the directions mention, but wouldn't buff out. I was expecting the conditioned to be shinier but that wasn't the case for the faux black leather. After 3 days:Unfortunately this was the saddest result, these boots were relatively new and looked just fine before I tried to condition them and instead now they look chalky and have a very weird texture.Black real leather flats: 8+ years old, not conditioned in the past 4-5 yearsJust after the application: shiny! Also buffed out the "dusty" look of the old black leather. After 3 days:This is the only pair of shoes that turned out okay. They seem to be supple. I didn't see any apparent chalkiness.Overall verdict:I would not purchase again for faux. All this did was require me to wash my boots again and take them to a professional anyway. I'll keep it handy only for genuine leather, but will use with caution.
