If you do the work on your vehicles, you may have had that, “AWW *%#!” moment when a lug nut rounds off, or a locking lug nut tool breaks. Now you can have an “Ah ha!” moment as you remember you have these tools that make removing that stuck lugnut relatively easy.Important - make sure you have the right size and use the proper process and tools for a successful removal on your first attempt.The locking lug nut I removed was 3/4” in diameter. I used the 13/16” or 21mm size tool.I would highly recommend using this 1/2” drive set for lug nuts. Use a long handled breaker bar, not an impact wrench.Before attempting to remove the stuck/rounded nut, apply a penetrating oil and let sit for at least a few hours. Right before removing, hit the nut with a propane or MAPP torch for a minute or so.Now you need to tap the tool onto the lug nut using a large hammer. You should feel the tool biting into the metal,of the lug nut. You want more than a tap, but don’t pound it on there. Just give it moderate taps until it stops moving further onto the nut. Try your best to keep it centered on the nut. Also, before tapping it on, orient the 1/2” drive hole on the tool so your breaker bar is in your desired position when attached.Now just attach your 1/2 ratchet/breaker bar to the attached tool and apply some force! Because of the flats on this tool, you can also use a large wrench instead of a ratchet or breaker bar.

This is a great product with good bite on rounded-off bolt heads and incredible durability. I would absolutely recommend this product.

My lug nuts were all completely stripped after taking car for oil and tire rotation. Not sure which business did it and Cadillac GM dealership wouldn’t touch it quoting ridiculous price to take them off for tire rotation, very poor quality GM lug nuts. So I researched and found this product and made sure to get the larger nut remover kit because I own a medium SUV. It removed them with ease no issues at all on every lug. I used small hammer to tap it in and breaker bar to unscrew each nut. Gently wiggle breaker bar while loose nut is on bolt to remove them. Super easy and awesome product! Definitely recommend this tool!!!

We've all experienced the frustration of trying to remove a damaged bolt or nut or a Philips head screw with the slots rounded out. At my house, the process usually involves the throwing of things along with a fair amount of swearing. This kit of extractors seems to be the answer to my prayers. The kit includes 7 different sizes of extractors- similar to sockets but with a spiral inside instead of having fixed sides. The spirals are designed to grip odd sizes or misshapen heads and are "deep well" so they can fit over a long, protruding bolt.The tools are held securely in a durable case. The kit does not come with any kind of handle as the extractors are intended to be used on a power drill. The adapter provided has a surprisingly loose connection with the extractors. They almost feel like they'll fall off under their own weight. The adapter that came with my drill snapped on much more securely. The rest of the tools seem to be of good, precision quality but I took off one star for the adapter which seems like it might be a defective part.I was most impressed with how well these handled a rounded out screw head. With a difficult bolt or nut, you might be able to wrestle it loose with a wrench or vice grip. If you can't get a screw driver to grip a screw, well you're kinda screwed. These grip the OUTSIDE of the screw head so you can extract the most messed up screw with ease.This is a specialized tool set, at a somewhat of a premium price that not everyone will be able to justify owning. However, if you do a lot of work that requires repair or dismantling of crusty equipment I think you will find it worth having. My husband said if it got one thing loose that he was unable to get any other way, it would be worth any price.

Worked great to remove a differential drain bolt that a previous owner had overtightned and rounded off. Used a 2 foot long 1/2 inch helper bar (and still lifted my body of the ground before it broke loose).I only needed one socket for this project (15/16 -24mm), but I'm glad I purchased the set. The price is dramatically lower than buying any three of them, and I'll have them onhand when I discover the next challenge the previous owner forgot to tell me about.I have several Irwin tools, and all have served me well (some for 25+ years).

Had 2 lug nuts on my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 that were totally frozen on the wheel studs. Plus they had chrome "caps" on them that had split from expanding rust, making them impossible to be removed by any standard socket. I purchased this kit of 5 nut extractors and with a minimum of effort had removed those 2 lug nuts. I had initially decided to replace all of the lug nuts on all 4 wheels of the truck. I ended up using the 13/16th extractor on several other frozen lug nuts allowing me to replace all of the lug nuts on the truck. These are super quality, work perfectly and are well made. I am sure these will end to be a great addition to my toolbox.
