Impressed by the quality and design of this product.
Hi. I don't normally write a review for a product purchase but I have to say that I'm impressed with the quality of this product. It was very easy to put together and install. It looks great and feels very sturdy. Hopefully it will last for years. I'll be ordering a 3 step version of this product for another project around my home soon. Very nice railing!

no drill bi
I was surprised that the kit did not have a proper sized drill bit. Not having the metric sized one made installation much more difficult than needed to be.

An inexpensive railing but you'll need to go to the hardware store
This railing is simple to assemble and is inexpensive. If your goal is to provide a safety feature that will last a few years, this is it. During installation, I found a few problem areas:(1) There are two small screws that hold the plastic inserts into the upper and lower vertical posts. These screws are not sized properly and do not tighten. By yourself four #8 x 1/2" stainless screws to replace them.(2) I agree with a previous reviewer that the concrete anchors that are included are not usable. They are 10 mm and require a 10mm masonry drill bit which is not included. You will not find a 10mm bit at Home Depot or Lowes. I purchased sixteen 3/8" x 2-1/4" concrete sleeve anchors as replacements and used my 3/8" masonry bit.(3) If you are attaching to wood, the installation will be easier. However, if concrete is your base, I suggest making a drilling template. Despite measuring thrice and marking the hole locations, the masonry bit will wander and if it is off by more than 1/8", you are screwed. There is little tolerance for error. I ended up test fitting the railing after each hole drilled and sure enough, my original marks were no good.(4) Unlike the description, this is NOT cast iron. It is thin sheet metal painted black. It scratches easily and you will probably scratch it during installation. I had to touch it up with a can of black spray paint after installation.(5) The balusters are not a tight fit and rattle. It remains to be seen if they will rattle in the wind.Overall, this is an inexpensive solution to a safety railing need. Were money no object, I would opt for actual cast iron.

A bad choice
The rail I bought shouldn't have been passed by quality control. I got to step 3 of the instructions (joining the interior posts with the rail and the interior post support) and discovered right away that it was impossible. Probably a problem of the interior rails or the support being the wrong size, or the support) being bent at the wrong angle, or the holes for the bolts to fasten the support to the main posts being drilled in the wrong place, or maybe all of the above. Anyhow, it's crapola.

It was easy to install. Make sure you have a hammer drill.
This is a decent handrail for the $$. I didn't like that once the plate cover were one it made it difficult to install the bolts. I used tapcons screws much easier. Overall, for the money it's a nice handrail. Also, I wish the bolts were painted white and not white caps.
