It’s worth the money! Functions as designed
Bought this as a gift for my father.I was skeptical because I sent it directly to his house and I didn’t receive the package myself. My father is almost 60 years old, and I was worried that he wasn’t going to be able to understand or be able to set up the device correctly.Great productEasy set upExcellent quality on the magnetWhen he received the packageHe charged it upAnd immediately gave me a call from itElatedEcstaticSays it was one of the best gifts I ever got himCan you tell he loves Star Trek?Worth the money

Nerdtastic
It's a working ST:TNG com badge. Hard to argue with that.

Great Quality Material, Poor Volume & Limited Range
The Section 31 Bluetooth Com Badge is very well made with a sleek gloss black and Metallic Silver Delta style. The Metal Back Plate is a gloss gunmetal with a strong Neodymium Magnet to hold onto the Com Badge through a shirt, t-shirt, blouse, or uniform. It doesn't hold well on clothing thicker than a shirt or t-shirt, it won't hold well through a fleece or jumper! There are a few down sides of this com bade. The volume of voice calls or phone text to speech interactions. Volume is controlled from the device the badge is connected to, but even at full volume, I was barely able to hear the person calling me in a test and we were only inside in different rooms! The Bluetooth range is very poor, I got around eight feet from my phone and the com badge disconnected, this won't be a problem if you have your phone on you, or next to you, just don't go to another room or you'll get cut off. Another downside is the battery life.On a full charge, which can be reached well within an hour, you'll maybe get four hours of connection with the badge, that'll drop to about an hour if you actually use it for a call or to dictate a message. The control functions are very simple, you touch and hold to turn the device off/on, a shorter hold will put the badge into Cosplay mode with just chirping sound effects, a quick double tap will launch your chosen AI assistant on your phone/tablet. Other controls are performed via your connected device such as volume etc.If the speakers on the Com Badge had been louder (Mobile phone quality), and the battery lasted much longer than an hour in active use I would highly recommend this device. As it is currently, November 2024, It's a great Cosplay item, toy or collectible, but really not useable in any real scenario such as a phone call, or dictating messages. The price will certainly have to drop if the current operational parameters are not drastically improved.

These are a few of my favorite things
Went through my washing machine and still works perfectly. Love it! The magnet did fall off the backing (before it went through the washer) but it still holds the badge onto my work vest just fine.

It's awesome if you like Section 31
This thing is very cool if you're a fan of the show. If not, you might not love it as much. Personally, I love having this connected to my phone when I'm playing STFC

Slightly thick, but bery fun! A must have for STTNG lovers!
Item is slightly thicker than a communicator should be, but it is good enough and it is fun. Since it is an old item, it required me to stiffen the battery contacts carefully, but worked perfectly after that. Pins will perforate your suit, magnets would be better, but will be firmly in place. A bit difficult to remove, though. If you are a Star Trek Next Generation fan, it is a must have!

I guess Star Trek made me expect too much! Plastic, Push Button, Bad Batt, poor QA & Over-priced! .
My Orion makeup was better than this! I'm not an artist. Just as much $ was spent on packaging as the product!1st off there was a scuff on "Brand New" communicator! Right side is where and it's not very noticeable but it's there!I expected metal touch based device. The only thing metal is the backplate w/ magnet. The magnet is Not as strong as they made it sound. We have tech as shown in beautiful Borg like schematic. (Which was ruined by folding) That schematic should've been half sized printed front and back. The battery is a pity! It wasn't charged on arrival, not even partially. Manual says 2-48hrs usage. I had to charge device 3x in 24hrs! 1st time I un-paired device thinking battery would last longer. I probably got 10 clicks/chirps before a recharge was needed. I can't imagine Bluetooth 5 using that much battery.*⚠ in manual about battery aka Red Flag. 5v/1a charging recommended BUT No Charger Included! This is same 💩 warning those cheap azz 10$ vape sticks have! Um 1 Protection Circuit? 2- Power Regulation 3- WTH? 4- I used same charger I use 4 my Smartwatch (No not a Sammy or iTard).I tested speaker & mic function. That was acceptable for size. Distance was really good during test. I'm certain it is BT5 based. The only thing that I like is the sound/chirp!This could've been made allot better for $6x USD! Strangely only 1 like/comment on badge. I feel ultimately I should've bought the other badge that was dumb but metal & cheaper. Sadly I waited & it was sold out...Let me say lastly I'm not a Scammer. Therefore don't like Amazon showing me a Pic of my package delivered! That's a privacy concern & prob huge waste of money/resources! (storage/electric/bandwidth/etc) I could understand if I say where's my stuff, didn't get it & so on...
