Exactly as described
This product is fabulous. I printed my canvas 24 x 34 to fir this 20 x 30 frame. I followed the videos to assemble it and it went together flawlessly. Even though it is a pretty large canvas, it stretched fine with no wrinkles and it taught. The metal corner braces went in using just thumb pressure, but I did tap it with a hammer just a bit. If you assemble this properly, they slide right in.

Easy to use for first time
This was my First time stretching a canvas and this kit had easy to follow directions and made the process as easy as could be expected. After purchasing this kit in 48” x 36” and letting it sit for 6 months I realized that I ordered the wrong dimensions. I contacted the P&L Art customer service and they sent me the correct sized bars (2-32” to replace the 36”) that I needed for the width free of charge. Great customer service and for that I would definitely recommend.A few notes on assembly. If you have never stretched a canvas do yourself a favor and watch a YouTube video or two before starting. I didn’t and wished I had just to better prepare on how to staple canvas. Second, I did buy staple gun, staple remover, and canvas stretcher pliers and used all three which are not part of this kit. I think I would have had a loose canvas if I hadn’t have used them. And last, I didn’t cut and tuck the corners per the kit instructions. I was just too afraid to cut into my canvas so I folded and stapled instead. Also, these bars result in a wider, gallery style wrap. For the canvas I stretched, I Intend to frame it and the gallery thickness may make that more difficult but the cost savings will surely out weight that.I did have one side of my frame that I over stretched and can see it slightly bending inward (on left side of picture) so be careful to not do that. That is where watching some YouTube videos will help. There is a pattern in which it is recommended to stretch and staple to get canvas taught without overstretching. I unfortunately viewed the video after I had already stretched and stapled my canvas per the kit instructions and still had a little slack in the canvas that I needed to fix. Some stretchers come with middle support bars which would have prevented this but this kit does not. Since I originally ordered the width to wide and the company sent me replacement bars for the width, I’m going to cut the extra bars that they didn’t make me return and use them as a support bar.I can say that I stapled and removed staples several times (all from the very back of the canvas in the white space) and feel that if I hated it I could still take it to a professional and nothing I did would prevent them from wrapping as usual, so the risk of screwing it up with this kit is minimal. With that being said, I probably would choose professional canvas stretching if I had been mounting and expensive piece of artwork. Mine was a photo canvas so replacement was not an issue if I botched it.

Great value and easy to do at home
I had a great experience with this product. Very glad to have found an option for my canvas besides the $100+ dollars the craft store would have charged me to get it stretched. It’s not going to be as stretched as it would be professionally done, but the slack is not noticeable when it is hung in place. It’s a great value for money to me!Easy to hang. I did not cut the corners of the canvas and instead just folded them in case I need to upgrade the wood base one day.UPDATE: The adhesive did start unsticking after a day or two. I took a stapler to the edges and now it’s perfect.

Following instructions damaged my print
I wish the instructions had you mount and fold each bar one by one. Once you secure them to the canvas (done all at once per the instructions), if your measurements are even slightly off, you risk tearing your canvas when you attempt to fold each bar up. Mounting then folding one at a time would have avoided this. My canvas tore on 2 corners. Removing the canvas once it has been fixed to the bars is nearly impossible without further damage. Yes, my alignment error was my own, but I could have adjusted for it without tearing the canvas if the instructions had us mount one bar at a time. I’m sure this varies depending on the canvas material or type of print, but beware. If I were to do this again I would not follow the instructions. Sad that a memory from a once in a lifetime trip is now marred. Kicking myself for trying to save some money on framing.

Ruined masterpiece and no support from P&L
The adhesive is a joke within 24 hours after putting this together the canvas peeled off leaving it loose and floppy with no way to tighten it back down. No customer support and no way to return the product. Had I known how bad this was I would’ve stapled it. After using this my art is completely ruined. It is not replaceable my only option is to start over with the same product and staple it this time it’s been cut and is sticky. It also has holes from attaching it to the corners. Also to get it to work you must cut the corners. It might work better with smaller canvases but not a large one. If you are going to try this you better be ready to staple it and cut your art. I feel taken advantage of. Also you are stuck with them for a floating frame because you can’t find anyone else that had the sizes to fit around this monster. I think they need to ship me a new one at no cost and tell people they need to staple it on the back. The glue is a very temporary hold. I’ll certainly be escalating this complaint it they don’t replace it. No luck so far. Next stop is BBB and the attorney general. I will be heard!
